I suddenly remembered Jun and Nino @$$ing (as in teasing ok.. Clean your thoughts!!!) Sho at their AAA2008 Kokuritsu concert.. Lolz~
*Sho sharing that he asked her mom to cook dinner for him when he got home and his mom's watching Maou*
Jun: "Mama, tabetai desu~"
Nino: "Hambaga daiyou~"
*Sho denying while the audience are having the time of their lives.. Lucky people..*
Yes~ It's Japanese cuisine once again with me and my merienda (turned dinner and shopping that night) buddy, Drei *applause* We went to Robinsons Ermita that night in an attempt to search for stockings, accessories and my shoes for a certain event tonight. I suggested that we try "Tempura Japanese Grill".
I was able to taste their dishes 4 times already.. (1) Food trip/Arashi meet-up with Jemmz and Abie; (2) Dinner with Ram; (3) Post-ASW event flailing (4) With Mareng Drei. Their prices are within the range on Tokyo-Tokyo and I love their sushis and makis. I love their dishes (except for chili mabo tofu)
During my first visit with Abie and Jemmz, we had Ebi Salad Maki, Tori Teppanyaki (I hope I got this right) and Curry Omu-rice. Ebi Salad Maki is mecha oishii~
Abie and I ordered Curry omu (omelet) rice. The curry rice had a strong after taste. If you don't like curry much, I suggest that you don't try it. I'm surprised with the size of the omu rice though.. It's good for 2 people if you're not much of an eater =p
Jemmz ordered Tori Teppan.. Tastes like chicken since it's chicken >_< You can never go wrong with Teppanyaki <3
Last night, Drei and I shared on a Gyu Asupara Maki. Too bad their Ebi Bacon Maki isn't available =( Personally, I liked their Gyu Asupara ^-^
I ordered Tendon. It's a mix of tempura and.. Is it kakiage? I really can't remember >_< For all I know, it's ebi tempura with strips of sweet potatoes/potatoes tempura >_<
Drei ordered Chili Mabo Tofu. So sorry mare that I wasn't able to inform you what mabo tofu's like >_< As they say.. "Parang inulam mo yung taho".. I like mabo tofu but this one doesn't suit my taste..
So, if you have time, please do drop by TEMPURA JAPANESE GRILL and try their dishes. They also offer yakiniku to those who want to have a "grilling" experience. Their friendly crew will always wait with a ready smile ^_^
We visited our departed loved ones last November 2.. As usual, we went to the Chinese Cemetery to pay respects. Few bloggers and friends asked me what's it's like inside Chinese Cemetery.. Sharing with you some pics I took inside the cemetery.. It's said camera's not allowed and I got scolded by the guard.. But.. Lolz~
We call this area/tomb "Tho Ti Kong" or as what Chinese believed, God. We offer "Kim" (not the teen actress), "Hiu" (simply pinch your nose while saying this and you'll get the right pronunciation) and food offerings.
"Kim" is what we call as money offering to the dead. Don't ask me why the dead needs money.. "Kim" literally means "Gold" in Chinese (Fookien). They are yellowish/goldish/brownish papers with gold paper in the middle. We also place those colorful papers over the tomb. Some say those colorful papers serves as another form of money for the dead. Some say they add colors and festivities to the place wherever our departed ones are.
It's common for Chinese to offer foods, along with "Kim" and "Hiu" to the tombs. The "Kim" (those non-colorful ones) are then burned. The burning process is like the sending process of the money to the dead. Talk about money transfer.. Lolz~ We waited for 30 minutes to an hour before burning the "Kim". This time is said to be the time needed for the dead to eat all that we have offered them. What do we do with the food offerings afterwards? We either give them to the cemetery caretakers or take them home, wait a week or so then eat them >.< Some Chinese leave them inside the cemetery instead.
Offering table inside my grandparent's mausoleum.
The place where we burn the "monetary" offerings. Each mausoleum have their own burning area but since ours not 'that' clean, I took a picture of the cemetery's public burning area.
The image of what an Apartment-type tombs would look like. This is where they keep all cremated remains.
This is the place where they do the cremating process.
As per my dad, this is an area for the departed ones who are Buddhist.
Some mausoleum inside the cemetery.
Camera tripping since Chinese cemetery >_<
